Align In 2009

“Find out where God is working and join Him” is not only a famous Christian mantra, it continues to be a rudder for our eldership team and church. Our heart is to consistently discern where the Lord is at work in people’s live, in our community and in our world, and then to join Him. There are a few areas we sense the Lord is already working, and in early 2009 we plan on joining Him. The first area is to provide a Children’s Church learning experience for children with special needs, and as well find ways to minister to their families. Another area we will be addressing in 2009 are situations where families are suffering injustices. Through the creation of “Northern New York Compassion Coalition” later this year or early 2010, we hope to address many areas where people are being physically, emotionally and spiritually deprived, or even damaged. From providing food and clothing to the under-resourced, to helping unwed moms, we sense the Lord is propelling us to “step up” and represent Him in practical, grace-filled and compassionate ways. Overall the Lord is moving us to being more of a “Missional” church, one that “goes,” versus one that “stays;” one that not only believes for many personal conversions to the Lordship of Christ, but one that also is going about addressing injustices in our world. Our passion then, is to discern where God is at work in our world and then to join or align ourselves with Him.
