First Day In Cali, Colombia & Rey de Reys Church

First of all we'd like to thank everyone who is praying for Greg & I...we are soooo grateful!! Not only did we have great flights from Montreal to Cali, both of us had entire rows to ourselves so we could relax for both rather long flights. In all my years of travel I never have had that luxury.

This first picture was taken from Ruth Ruibal's roof looking North toward the city of Cali, Colombia, a city of 4 million people. We spent today listening to Ruth share the most incredible stories of how the Lord used Julio to shake the entire nation of Bolivia in the 1970's. So many people were healed that even the soccer stadiums that held 40,000 people were not big enough to contain the revival. Though I have heard the stories before they were still fresh as I heard again the number of documented medical miracles. The stadiums, prime time television, prime time radio and the president's air plane were all made available to Julio following a miracle that took place in one of the cabinet members lives. The cabinet member had been in an auto accident severely damaging his spinal cord and paralyzing him from the waist down. The hospital was going to transport him to Miami to see if there was anything that could be done for him in the states. A cabinet member who knew Julio asked if he would pray for the gentleman and Julio replied that he could not heal the man and that healing was not magic, but that he would pray for the man if he wanted. The hospital was crawling with police because of this dignitary being there, but they permitted Julio to go into his room. Julio explained to the man that only God healed and that he had no power himself to heal anyone but if he would like he would pray. Well Julio prayed and the man began moving his toes and little by little his feeling and movement came back. For the next two weeks Bolivia's President and Cabinet discussed how this could have happened since they knew of the Dr's report and the nearly severed spine. Finally after two weeks the President sent a his limo to pick up Julio to inquire as to how he performed the miracle. Julio told the president that he didn't heal the man, but the Lord did as a result of prayer. Julio also prayed for the President's wife who had cancer and she was also healed. The President then asked Julio what he could do for him and Julio said nothing, but he could do something for the people of Bolivia by providing the stadiums, TV and Radio air time for the message of the Gospel to go out. They were immediately made available by the President and for the next number of months the salvations and miracles that happened in Bolivia were staggering. Of course the Newspapers and magazines covered the events.

This picture is where we prayed for people this evening. The first one was early in the service before many of the people showed up.

Pastor Diego Ospina has been a good friend of Ruth Ruibal for several years and 18 months ago I met him and we have become good friends. He has asked if I will help him with the church so we established these dates to do a presbytery in his church. We had a great evening!!! The revelation was amazing as we were able to tap into God's thoughts for his people and speak them out. Of course we have never met these people before so we had no idea what we were saying but the words were so specific that not only did the candidates break down weeping but the congregation celebrated as the Word of the Lord came to their friends and leaders.

Thank you again for praying. We will be doing presbytery Thursday evening, Friday evening and on Saturday morning. On Saturday evening Greg will be speaking to the youth/young adult community in Ruth's church. We love you all!!!
