First Day Finished In Gulu...

Another great day in Uganda! We were all busy doing different things today...Pete was building, Dorie was watching the children, Christine and Mama V went offsite to discuss Restorers of Hope & Children of Hope ministry issues, and I went with Mike into the city to meet some people and pastors. Though I have been in several third world countries before, I have never seen the level of squalor and poverty that I have witnessed here. All of us are being significantly impacted, wondering how we can live on the same earth, be equally loved by God, yet be born into such profoundly different worlds. There is no way for these people to naturally escape their environments, so God expects those who have been blessed with means to help those who cannot help themselves.

Here you can see the van that NTC purchased for the Children of Hope Ministry. WHAT A BLESSING IT IS!!! Yeah NTC!! I am so pround to be part of such a great church that is making a significant impact where it matters most. We are all on our third continent outside the USA...first Europe in Romania, then South America in Cali, Colombia, and now Africa in Gulu, Uganda. As the apostle Paul told the Thessalonians, "...your love is being spoken about all over the world..." I am very biased, but I cannot help but brag about the great saints we are privileged to walk with at such a crucial time in world and church history.
Have a great day tomorrow as you hear a report from Joe Hazelton about his time here in Gulu and hear Adam Avery preach.

Blessed To Be A Blessing,
Pete, Dorie, Christine A., & Don

Dear Salivating Flecking Man,

You have a great first blog. I appreciate the fact that Pete is doing all the physical work LOL. Seriously Don, I agree with you. We have a wonderful church family at New Testament. We are so missionary minded. The poverty that you mentioned is something none of us have really experienced. Thanks for keeping us posted. We will pray for all of you.
